Am I on right treatment?

Q: I am a 30 years old housewife weighing 59 kg. I am in to my fifth month of pregnancy. Earlier, I had two MTPs (medical termination of pregnancy). But this time at the start of my pregnancy, my gynaecologist asked me to take Duphaston for 18 weeks and Duvadilan retard till the full term. Last week, she prescribed me Loprin 75 twice a day till the eighth month of my pregnancy. Why am I asked to take Loprin 75? The doctor did not tell me any reason. I recently underwent ultrasonograpy, where all things came normal except liquor. Liquor was found less in the report. I am very confused and worried. I also have severe acidity and digestion problem; I have gained a kg during my 5 months of pregnancy. The doctor asked me to take adequate bed rest. Please advise.

A:Loprin is given in case one is having a small for dates baby, or have some other medical condition requiring this. Duvadilan retard is given to relax the uterus - if there is a high risk for preterm labour. Duphaston is usually given if there is previous history of early pregnancy loss, or spotting in early pregnancy or evidence of corpus luteum insufficiency.

Women with previous abortion (even induced) are at higher risk of spontaneous abortion and preterm labor in subsequent pregnancies. For acidity, you can take Digene or Gelusil gel 2 teaspoons after breakfast, lunch and dinner and avoid spicy and greasy foods.
