Dr Khazanchi is a Plastic Surgeon with a special interest in Reconstructive Microsurgery, Cranio-facial and Facio-maxillary surgery, Hand surgery, Aesthetic and Laser Plastic Surgery.
Dr Khazanchi completed his medical graduation from the Christian Medical College and Hospital Ludhiana in 1975. Subsequent to this he underwent postgraduate training in General Surgery for 3 years and Plastic Surgery for 3 years at the same hospital. He passed his MS (Surgery) in 1980 and MCh (Plastic Surgery) in 1983. After a brief stint as a Lecturer in Plastic Surgery at the Christian Medical College and Hospital in Ludhiana, he moved to Delhi and joined the Faculty of the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences where he later became the Professor and Head of Plastic Surgery. During this period he had further training in advanced microsurgery in Australia. He left AIIMS in 1999 to join Sir Ganga Ram Hospital.
Dr Khazanchi has many awards and honours to his credit. He was awarded a gold medal by the Punjab University upon graduation, and a distinction at Post graduation. He has published extensively in National and International journals and written chapters for text books. He has been a research fellow at the Microsurgery Research Centre at St. Vincent's Hospital in Melbourne, Australia and a WHO Fellow at the Manchester Royal Infirmary in UK. He is an active member of many professional organisations. He has been awarded the Peet Prize by Association of Plastic Surgeons of India. He has been on the executive committee of Association of Plastic Surgeons of India (APSI) and Indian Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (IAAPS). He is the past President of Delhi Chapter of Association of Plastic Surgeons of India (APSI) and Indian Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery (ISRM). He is currently the Secretary General of 15th World congress of the International Confederation for Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (IPRAS) being hosted in New Delhi in December 2009.
