Dr Sadhana Kala is senior consultant gynaecologist at Moolchand hospital, Delhi, since 1985, and Professor at Medical College, Dehradun. Earlier, she was also, concurrently, Senior Consultant at Apollo, Batra and Modi hospitals, Delhi.
She specialised in Reproductive Health from Upsalla University, Sweden; and in endoscopy (laparoscopic surgery) and infertility and menopause treatment from various institutes in the US. She regularly goes to the US for workshops/seminars/conferences to keep abreast with the latest advances in these specialities.
She has wide teaching, research and clinical experience in India and abroad and has published many research papers. In 1985, she was offered research and teaching assignment at Yale University, USA, but returned to India to join Medical College, Guwahati, as Visiting Surgeon & Professor.
She was university topper in MBBS, with distinction in medicine, winning several gold and silver medals and certificates of honour. After MS (Obs & Gyn), she taught at Medical College, Kanpur, as Assistant/Associate Professor before going abroad in 1982. Her areas of special interest are infertility, menopause, endoscopy(laparoscopic surgery) and high risk pregnancy.
