According to FDA, most adults can safely consume about 400 milligrams of caffeine a day.

Caffeine may keep you awake even if you don't want it to as it decreases the levels of the hormone melatonin, which the body needs to fall asleep.

Caffeine can make some people feel jittery or anxious, especially if you take in too much.

Caffeine works by stimulating the brain and central nervous system, helping one stay alert and prevent the onset of tiredness.

Coffee or caffeine can give heartburn as it increases the amount of acid your stomach produces. If you have reflux, caffeine can worsen the symptoms.
