Tips To Prevent  And Manage Dandruff

Introduction

Dandruff is a common condition which causes the skin of the scalp to become itchy with flakes of dead skin. The severity of dandruff can differ from case to case. Here are some tips to prevent and effectively manage dandruff.

Tea tree oil

Tea tree oil has antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties that may help reduce the severity and symptoms of dandruff.

Head massage 

A thorough massage with coconut oil can improve blood circulation in the scalp which helps reduce dandruff. Repeat this 2-3 times a week for effective results.

Aloe vera

Aloe vera has antibacterial and antifungal properties that can reduce inflammation and decrease dandruff.

Brush your hair

Do not skip brushing your hair as it improves blood circulation in the scalp and can reduce dandruff. Make sure you use a soft brush.

Fenugreek seeds

Soak the seeds overnight, grind them with some water and make a paste. Apply it all over your scalp, let it stay for 15-20 minutes and wash. Repeat 2-3 times for good results.

Mustard oil

You can also use a mixture of fenugreek powder and mustard oil. Apply it on your scalp and leave it for sometime before you wash it out.

Lemon

Rub lemon juice directly on your scalp,  let it stay for 15 to 20 minutes and then wash it off. Regular application of this can reduce dandruff quite effectively.

Curry leaves

Boil a handful of curry leaves in a cup of coconut oil. Boil it till the oil becomes darker in colour. Massage your hair and scalp with this oil 2-3 times a week to reduce dandruff.
