Migraines are severe headaches affecting one side of the head. This pain is accompanied by nausea, vomiting and sensitivity to light.

The definite cause of migraine is still unidentified. Genetics and environmental factors are somewhere responsible.

Factors that may trigger a migraine include stress, insufficient sleep, poor posture, alcohol consumption and change in weather.

Ditch the caffeine

Sudden withdrawal or drinking too much caffeine can lead to a migraine. Drink water every time you crave coffee to curb the habit.

Stay stress-free

Stress management is important to ward-off multiple illnesses. You can meditate, exercise,  or spend time with your pet to beat stress.

Try yoga

Yoga is good for your mind and body. Practice Paschimottanasana, Hastapadasana and Padmasana for effective results.

Eat healthy, sleep more!

Lack of sleep and unhealthy diet are two of the common factors that lead to migraine. Eat a balanced diet and get 7-8 hours of sleep.

When to see a doctor

You should pay a visit to your doctor if your 
headache is affecting your daily life. Do not
miss the signs and symptoms of migraine.
