Sitting for too long 

Your chair can be your biggest enemy. A sedentary life is the number one culprit for weight gain. The long sedentary hours mean no exercise at all, slowing down your metabolism. So take regular breaks, at leat every hour.

Skipping meals

Skipping meals can put your body into fat-storage mode, boosting hunger. According to research people who skip breakfast are 4.5 times more likely to be obese than people who don't. Breakfast is also important to kick start your metabolism speedily.

Late night shifts

Working till late harms your body as it means you are getting less sleep and you tend to overeat. Studies have found that people whose last meal was closest to bedtime took in more calories.

Eating unplanned 

If you're at work, in the airport, anywhere, and hunger sets in, chances are you'll grab what's convenient, which mostly will be junk. So plan and pack your meals like homemade sandwich, fresh fruit, smoothie, etc.

Away from sunlight

Natural light helps in regulating your body's circadian rhythm, which maintains an efficient use of energy throughout the day. So try to walk to your office or at least make an effort to not stay indoors throughout your office hours.

Eating too quickly

Most of us tend to gobble down our food in less than 15 minutes at work but it take 15 minutes for our stomach to signal our brain that we are full. So this delay can make us eat despite being full. Eat slow and you will eat one-third less than normal.
