Genes play an important role in your body's shape. Although, it's no excuse to give up but set realistic goals that are focused on your body, not on some perfect image.

You can exercise as much as you want but if you don't watch what you eat, you cannot achieve your goal of flat abs. Stick to lean protein and veggies, whole foods, fruits and nuts and healthy fats.

The goal of abdominal exercises is to strengthen the abdominal muscles and to improve posture, stability, and balance. Here are some exercises which are focused on losing belly fat.

Crunches are low-impact exercises that target your upper abs as well as the lower abs. Although, they don't help burn a lot of calories but are great if you want to strengthen your abs.

This exercise strengthens the lower abs but doesn't require you to hold yourself up while you do so. Do this exercise 10 to 15 times or more for best results.

Lying Leg Raises

This exercise is similar to the lying leg raises but here you lift one leg at a time rather than both together. You can repeat the exercise as many times as desired.

It's important to always take new exercises slowly. Do not skip a warm-up and cool down session to avoid any injury. If there is any pain, talk to your doctor or a physical therapist.
