Lack of sleep

Sleep loss affects the secretion of cortisol, a hormone that regulates appetite, hence making you hungry even if you are full. It can also increase fat storage in the body.

Stress levels

Stress contributes to weight gain as it makes most of us over-eat to calm the nerves. So, eat less and find alternate ways to beat stress.

Not having water

Studies prove that decreased water intake leads to increased fat deposit while drinking 8-12 glasses of water a day allows the body to flush out toxins, excess fat and improve brain.

Skipping breakfast

This bad habit is known to make one gain weight! The body fasts overnight and if it doesn't get food in the morning, it utilises the stored energy and replaces it with fat later.

Eating quickly

Eating at a fast pace paves the way to overeating and obesity. When a person eats food, he/she eats a lot more than the body needs and demands and the excess is stored in the form of fat, which causes weight gain.

No exercise

Living an inactive lifestyle will most definitely make you unhealthy and add to weight gain. Any sort of physical activity 30 minutes a day for minimum 5 days a week is a must.

Watching while eating

Watching television while eating can make you fat as your mind gets distracted and doesn't realize when it needs to stop eating. Research has shown that people eat more than their usual while watching television.

Eating post dinner

This habit tends to be a common problem wherein people eat mindlessly usually a sweet post dinner. Its a good idea to replace this with a warm cup of green tea or nuts or more importantly, quit eating anything after dinner.
