Q: I have a habit of chewing tobacco and have a small red spot on the inside of the upper lip. It is painless and is not growing. My doctor says that I will have to get a biopsy done if it does not go away in 8 weeks. Is it cancer?
A:First of all I'd like to strongly suggest that you stop chewing tobacco. If this red spot has been the same for the last two months, I think you should wait for another four weeks without chewing any tobacco. If this still persist whatever its condition, you then do require a biopsy.
