Renal failure after a cardiac bypass surgery
Q: Why does a person suffers from renal failure after a cardiac bypass surgery?
A:Renal failure is not a common complication of bypass surgery. It can however occur in patients with a compromised kidney function especially diabetics with mild renal failure preoperatively. Usually patients are thoroughly evaluated before bypass surgery so that high risk patients can be identified and measures to prevent it instituted well before the failure sets in.
