Emotions - homosexuality

Q: I think I am a homosexual. I am very different from my friends and I feel very tensed because of this. What can I do to overcome this problem?

A:Being attracted to the same sex is not a disease and if this is your natural preference you whould not be ashamed. Seeing a counsellor to help to get accustomed to this and accept your sexuality, and dealing with the stigma attached to homosexuality may be helpful. For some people a period of homosexual feelings or even a homosexual encounter is a part of normal adolescence. You need to differentiate this from a sexual preference that is lifelong.
