Dr. Bhawna Sirohi joined Artemis Health Institute in July 2010 as Head of Medical and Haemato-Oncology. Prior to joining Artemis, Dr. Sirohi was Director of Medical Oncology at Max healthcare which she joined in Oct 2009. Dr. Sirohi has been associated with a world renowned cancer institute- Royal Marsden Hospital, London for more than a decade and also worked for a year at Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge UK.
She started her oncology career at Tata Cancer Hospital, Mumbai in 1994. Dr Sirohi has a special interest in treating patients with Breast cancer, Lung and GI cancer, Myeloma and Lymphoma.
She has been an international leader in research in cancer and has published more than 300 papers in national and international journals and lectured worldwide. She is the founder President of New India Cancer Charity initiative (NICCI) which she launched in Nov 2010 to develop screening and early diagnosis of cancer in rural areas. She is on the committee of David Adams Leukaemia Fund, UK and on the management committee of CanSupport, a charitable organization dedicated to palliative care. She is an executive committee member of Indian Cooperative Oncology network (ICON) and Indian Society of Medical and Pediatric Oncology (ISMPO).
Dr Sirohi has been a topper & Gold Medalist in medical college. She received the Royal Marsden award for excellence in 2000 for enhancing the trusts reputation. She is the editor of Indian Journal of Medical and Pediatric Oncology. She is the Secretary of the EBMT Nuclear Accident Committee and as part of this is involved with the UK Department of Health interdisciplinary Group on clinical care and service configuration following a radiation accident. Dr Sirohi is passionate about training and education of nurses, pharmacists, undergraduate and postgraduate students. She is also keen to promote the concept of patient –family seminars /education /smoking cessation clinics for cancer patients.
