Is Novofran OZ safe for children?

Q: Can you please tell if Novofran OZ (Ofloxacin and Ornidazole oral suspension) safe for a 3 years old child with G6PD deficiency?

A:Absolutely unsafe and dangerous. First, ofloxacin is not permitted to be given to children and even adolescents since it adversely affects the growth of bone. Secondly its fixed dose combination with tinidazole is irrational and illegal. Such a combination is not permitted in any civilised advanced country. Thirdly there is hardly any indication where such a fixed-dose combination is clinically required.
