Q. Does the use of a lubricant like KY Jelly or coconut oil during intercourse prevent pregnancy? Please suggest as penetration is very difficult without a lubricant and we want to plan a pregnancy now?

A.  No clinical trials have been published/conducted to determine the effect of coconut oil or KY Jelly on sperms. Normally, there are sufficient natural secretions in the vagina if there is adequate foreplay and sexual arousal in the female.
