What are the side effects of injecting oily phenol into the prostate?

Q: Please send me some information on the rare case when phenol in almond oil is injected directly into the prostrate, as happened to me. What is the long-term damage of this, besides blood in urine?

A:Oily phenol (carbolic acid) injection is used only for piles. It is a sclerosing agent. It has never been tried for any prostatic condition. Hence there is no documented evidence of its adverse effects when injected into prostate. Blood in urine is due to needle reaching the urine passage.
