Q. My father has been diagnosed for multiple myeloma and advised to procure a new drug Revimid 50 mg which is currently available in Europe only. Can you please tell us about this drug and also other kind of treatments available to day.

A.  Revimid is a proposed brand name. It contains a medicine closely related to and derived from thalidomide. The medicine has been developed by Celegene Corporation of the United States. It is still in experimental stage and not authorized for use in the United States. There are several conventional treatments for Multiple Myeloma. The attending doctor may be requested to give you details.
