Q: What are the effects of Lavenorgestrel 1.5 mg on normal menstrual cycle? I took the above drug after 40 hours of coitus. The bleeding occurred on the 5th day after taking Lavenorgestrel. Is there any chance of pregnancy after bleeding? Can it disturb the normal menstrual cycle?

A:There are no permanent side effects. Sometimes there is a delay in resumption of menstruation (by more than 7 days) and/or spotting but it does not last very long. There is no effect on future fertility.
