How can the total leukocyte count (TLC) be increased of a hypothyroid patient?
Answered by : Dr Dharma R Choudhary
Clinical Hematologist & Bone Marrow Transplant Physician,BL Kapur Memorial Hospital, New Delhi
Q. How to increase the TLC of a patient having hypothyroidism?
A.  No drug is recommended to increase the TLC in normal humans. There is an injection named Filgrastime, available for chemotherapy-induced low neutrophil counts, which is not recommended for non-chemotherapy patients. You need to get a complete evaluation for low TLC before thinking of any treatment.
