Q: I want to know how effective is the combination of calcitriol with calcium citrate?

A:Calcitriol is indicated for correction of low calcium levels in a variety of conditions such as osteoporosis and renal reasons. These conditions do not necessarily require calcium supplementation because there may not be deficiency of calcium. Therefore Calcitriol and calcium (if required) should be administered separately in appropriate dosage. Due to these reasons, a Fixed-Dose Combination of calcitriol and calcium is not marketed in any developed country.
