What is the difference between American and Indian stent?

Q. My 74 years old father had an angioplasty and I asked the doctor to place American stents but he put one American and another Indian stent in spite of being told. He gave the reason that 1 artery need 40 mm stent, which is possible in Indian stent only. I have a doubt in mind regarding this. He also told me that putting both the American stents would be dangerous for my father. Is it a valid reason? What is the difference between Indian and American stent and what is their durability?
A.  Both Indian and American stents are of equivalent quality and durability and indigenous technology is in no way inferior to the American or European technology. As far as the first part of your query is concerned, I think it deals with specifics and it’s not possible for us to comment without any direct access to viewing your angiogram.
