Q: I am a 40 years old male who underwent a LASIK surgery 13 years back. But, my eye power didn't reduce much after the surgery. I still have -3 and -6 in my left and right eyes respectively. Can I go for another LASIK surgery?

A:Lasik can be re-done in some patients if adequate corneal thickness is available. If you do not wish to wear contact lenses/ glasses there may be other options that you can explore besides Lasik including INTACS or intrastromal ring implants or ICLs or Implantable Contact lenses. However, the decision to undergo any of these will be based on your eye condition, which needs to be evaluated in detail by an expert refractive surgeon.
