What is the normal range of pus cells in the urine of children?

Q. What is the normal range of pus cells and epithelial cells in the urine of 2 year-olds? What is calcium oxalate?

A.  Urine may contain up to 5 pus cells per high power field (HPF) without any significance. Even lower number could have significance in urine during diuresis, while higher number could be seen in a concentrated urine without disease, and may have to be correlated clinically. Calcium oxalate crystals may be found normally in any urine and do not have any clinical relevance.
