Can ELISA test for HIV be trusted?

Q: How far can the ELISA test for HIV be trusted? I got my blood test (ELISA) done after six months and nine months of exposure and both the time it was negative. Can I trust these tests and feel that I am not infected by HIV? Do I need any further test for HIV and if so, when?

A:You can be thankful that you have not got the infection inspite of exposure. You do not need further testing if the two tests were done at a good reliable lab. Please take care and avoid exposure. If you must have casual sex, please use a condom from start to finish.
