Q. I am a 50 years old male with an enlarged liver (160 mm in length). My report states mild hepatomegaly, fatty liver, leftt renal stone and bilateral renal concretions. Kindly let me know the causes for this and advise a suitable treatment.

A.  Presence of fat is a very common condition and in general there is nothing to worry about. However, to prevent fatty liver from becoming worse the following steps should be taken: 1. Maintain normal body weight (if obese). 2. If suffering from diabetes, maintain normal blood glucose levels 3. If suffering from high blood lipid values, use medications and diet to achieve normal values.
