Q: My brother was diagnosed with pulmonary TB a year and half ago. He was treated with normal TB medicines and recovered. Recently during a normal x-ray, the doctors found minimal fibrotic scars and termed it as healed pathology. Is it some kind of cancer or is it treatable? He has breathlessness, fatigue and irritation and pain in the chest for the last 8 months. He has a high blood pressure and high heart rate. He has not lost weight and is attending office. Recent blood tests showed all parameters as normal. Can this be treated?

A:Fibrotic scar is a natural process of healing in TB of the lungs. It requires no treatment. His symptoms are not due to this & should be evaluated by a physician on examination.
