How can optic nerve damage and vision loss be managed?

Q: I am a 58 years old female suffering from vision loss in the left eye due to damage of the optic nerve because of high pressure in the eye. The right eye’s optic nerve also got affected and the vision loss is nearly 75%. The doctor has prescribed Dorzox-T eye drops. There is no improvement in vision and it is decreasing day by day. I am also suffering from diabetes and take 40 units of insulin daily.

A:You must keep a strict watch on your diabetes to prevent changes of diabetic retinopathy occurring in the functional eye.

Also, keeping the eye pressure under control will help reduce the chance of progression in glaucoma. Regular follow up with your ophthalmologist will help detect early change. There are no shortcuts!
