Q: I am a 66 years old male suffering from high blood pressure and diabetes for the past 10 years. I have been suffering from lower back pain and fever for the last one week and underwent blood and urine tests. Urine test revealed turbid colour, plenty of pus cells, ephithileal cells - 2-3 phf, no bacteria, no parasites and positive albumin. All other values are normal. What do my reports indicate? My doctor has prescribed Cefpodoxime (200 mg) and Dolo. Do these values indicate any prostrate problem?

I would have asked you to undergo culture of the urine with antibiotic sensitivity as well. Remember, repeated urinary tract infection could be an indication of enlarged prostate. However, there would be other symptoms like increased frequency, hesitancy etc. Tablet Dolo would take care of your back.
