Q. I want information about Amway Nutrilite Omega-3 & 6. Can we advise these to heart patients? If yes, in which way does it benefit people? Especially, what do heart patients gain by using these products?

A.  I would suggest you discuss this with your physician and see if it is required for you. I have heard of lot of people using Nutrilite products for heart diseases, hypertension, diabetes etc., but personally have not prescribed it to anyone. Since the body cannot make them on its own, omega-3s must be obtained from food. Key Functions

  • Protecting the heart. Researchers now believe that alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), one of the omega-3s, may be particularly beneficial in protecting against heart and blood vessel disease, and for lowering cholesterol and triglyceride levels. Food Sources Key omega-3 fatty acids include eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), docosahexanoic acid (DHA), and alpha-lineolenic acid (ALA).
