Q. I am 36 years old and married. I am 5 feet 8 inches tall and weigh 76 kg. I have small, round, fat lumps at several places around my abdomen. Some of them are also present on the knees and thighs and few on the upper forearem. Some of them are quite obvious and stick out if I am without clothes. I don't have any pain, but an irritational feeling once in a while, especially for the ones in the abdomen area. Doctors tell me that they are harmless and I should consider a surgery only if they are painful. However, I get the feeling that there is a bigger problem associated with this. How to get rid of these? How can I prevent others from cropping up? Are they really harmless? Is this condition quite common?

A.  I learn that the little lumps in the various part of your body have been diagnosed fatty lumps, if not you need a correct diagnosis and this would mean a biopsy of the lump. If the diagnosis confirmed and if you feel you would like to rid of them you need to consult a plastic surgeon. As you know that there can be similar lumps other than fatty tissue. Fatty lumps are generally benign but the size can vary. If they are large your plastic surgeon will be able to help you.
