Q. I want to know if there is any multi-disciplinary team of specialists that includes neurologist, speech therapists, paediatrician in Chennai. I heard that such a team is in NIMHANS at Bangalore. But as I cannot take my daughter there to be examined for autism, I want to know if there is such a team in Chennai?

A.  You could try Vidya Sagar in Kotturpuram, No. 1, Ranjit Road, which leads off from Gandhi Mantap in Sardar Patel Marg. Vidya Sagar is a school for children with disability (cerebral palsy and related conditions). They also have a clinic for the initial diagnosis of any problem and referral services. It would be useful if you rang up and made an appointment for your child. The telephone numbers for Vidya Sagar are 2235 4784, 2235 3757 and 2235 4980.
