Q. I have a problem with my teeth. There is yellow dirt accumulated between the teeth. In fact they are not properly aligned. I have done scaling recently and they are clean now. But though I brush twice a day, I can still see the yellowish sediment. Is there any way to clean this? Is there any special toothpaste that you can suggest?

A.  It is quite natural for calculus (tartar) to get accumulated between teeth especially when teeth are irregularly placed and malaligned. The reason is the inability to clean in presence of malalignment. There are two remedies, either get orthodontic treatment done and the malalignment corrected or get it professionally cleaned frequently. The depositions of soft and hard deposits are inevitable.
