Q. I am having freckles on the face. For the past 6 days I am applying undiluted lemon juice on the freckles as I heard lemon juice is a good bleaching agent. Now my worry is will it harm my skin or cause skin cancer? I don't want go for laser treatment. How long does it take to get the result if I apply lemon juice everyday?

A.  The use of lemon juice does not cause cancer of the skin and in allopathy, not a suggested treatment. Chemical peels with glycolic acid may be tried under the supervision of a dermatologist and use sunscreens during day time. Laser treatment is another option.
