Dr Noshir Shroff is an ophthalmic surgeon specialising in Intraocular lens and refractive surgery. Dr Noshir M Shroff, s/o Dr Minoo S Shroff was born on 23rd August, 1951. He attended Modern School, New Delhi. He did both his Graduation and Post-Graduation in Ophthalmology from Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi, affiliated to Delhi University.
Presently he is a Medical Director of Shroff Eye Centre, A-9, Kailash Colony, New Delhi. He is also the head of the Cataract Service at Dr Shroff's Charity Eye Hospital, Daryaganj, New Delhi. He has been appointed Hony. Ophthalmic Surgeon to the President of India in December 1997. He has been a pioneer in the field of intraocular lens implantation surgery having performed his first implant surgery in 1982 and has performed over 13,000 implant procedures. He was also one of the first in the country to start phacoemulsification (sutureless cataract surgery) in 1992. He is also performing keratorefractive surgeries for the last 2 years.
He has been invited by many reputed centres abroad and attended courses on lens implant surgery, phacoemulsification and refractive surgery conducted by reputed surgeons like Dr John Pearce (UK), Prof Akira Momose (Japan), Dr Gimbel (Canada), Dr Crazofon (France) and Dr John Worst (Holland).
