    New Techniques, new concepts and original work

    Original work

  • Original work on biliary lithogenesis in India including importance of multimodal analysis leading to a new concept of the sequence in biliary lithogenesis based on crystallography and epitaxial growth. This work was published in the Indian Journal of Medical Research in four parts in consecutive issues.
  • Establishment for the first time of regional variation in lithogenicity of bile in Indian patients, also published in the Indian Journal of Medical Research.

  • Establishment of proper post-mastectomy arm positioning by skin tension quantification.
  • Use of myocutaneous flaps for amputations.
  • A new improved test for hydatidosis using double aldehyde stabilization
  • Evaluation of the role of Hollander’s test and the factors which affect it.
  • Value of H2 blockers in duodenal ulcer perforations.
  • Role of filariasis in the etiology of tropical vaginal hydrocoeles.
