Dr Anil Handoo
Consultant, Department of Haematology,
B L Kapoor Memorial Hospital,
New Delhi

Dr Handoo is a graduate and post-graduate (in Pathology) from Kasturba Medical College Mangalore, a unit of Manipal University, Manipal, India. During his post-graduation he was trained in the immunophenotyping of haematological neoplasms from Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai which he successfully started in the Dept of Pathology, Kasturba Medical College Mangalore. He joined the Department of Haematology, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital as a Senior Resident and rose to be a consultant. He also underwent an honorary fellowship in haematological medicine from Kings College Hospital, London with special emphasis on flow cytometry, molecular haematology and stem cells.

Presently he is a Consultant hematologist and flow cytometry expert at the B L Kapur Memorial Hospital, New Delhi. His areas of interest are:

  • Thalassaemia screening utilising HPLC and haemoglobin electrophoresis
  • Diagnosis of Haematological Malignancies including flow cytometric immunophenotyping for haematological malignancies
  • Stem cells
  • Molecular haematology

    He has been involved in the post-graduate teaching programme at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital. He has also been a guest speaker at national and International CME’s/conferences. He is a life member of Indian Association of Pathologists and Microbiologists, Delhi Society of Haematology and ISHTM. For the last 2 years he is an Executive Committee member of the Delhi Society of Haematology.
