Prof. Jayakar Thomas is a Senior Consultant Dermatologist in Kanchi Kamakoti CHILDS Trust Hospital and Mehta Hospitals, Chennai. He is an alumnus of Stanley Medical College, Chennai, India, with under-graduate, post-graduate diploma, Masters and Doctorate from the same college. With about 25 years of post-graduate teaching experience he has published over 240 original scientific papers in National and International Journals and authored and edited several textbooks of Dermatology.
He was the National President of the Indian Association of Dermatology Venereology and Leprology in 1998.
He is the recipient of several awards, notably the Mother Teresa International Award for academic excellence and achievements in the field of Dermatology. His special interests include Atopic Dermatitis, Pediatric Dermatology, Acne vulgaris, Hair Disorders, Bacterial Dermatoses and Teledermatology.
