Dr Manoj Khanna is a young enthusiastic plastic surgeon practicing in Kolkata with special interests in cosmetic surgery. Born and brought up in Calcutta, he did his medical graduation, post graduation and M.Ch (Plastic Surgery) from there. He was the first in Eastern India to pass the D.N.B. (Plastic Surgery)examination in 1996. Dr. Khanna did a Fellowship in ‘Cosmetic Surgery’ under Dr. Fredrick Grazer in California, USA in 1996.

Dr Manoj Khanna has a keen interest in cosmetic and plastic surgery and has been regularly attending meetings and presenting papers in various APSICON conferences since 1993. He was awarded the first prize in Ethiquiz in APSICON 1993 in Bangalore. His paper “Hair Transplant – Review of 100 cases” was awarded the Best Paper in AMSCON 1999 in Kolkata. He was awarded “Cosmetic Surgery Travelling Fellowship” by APSI in 1998.

Dr Manoj Khanna has been invited as Faculty Member to various cosmetic surgery meetings and workshops all over the country, including Baroda (BAPS – 2001), Guwahati Medical College (2001), APSI West Bengal State Chapter (Calcutta 2001), Raipur (2002), Patna Medical College (2002) and IAAPS Instructional course on Lasers(Mumbai – 2003).

He has also made an impact on the international scene when he was awarded the Best Podium Paper (1st Prize) at Bali, Indonesia in the 8th International Congress of OSAPS for his paper “Hair Transplant in the Indian Context – Review of 300 cases”. He has designed a new instrument, being patented as “Kolkata Slit”, which will be very useful in Hair Transplantation in the Indian scenario.

Dr Khanna is also and enthusiastic sportsman and was a College Blue at NRSMCH. He is a keen cricket and tennis player, and has been a regular commentator on Doordarshan and AIR for cricket and tennis, and other events like the LIVE telecast of Mother Teresa’s funeral.
