  • 1991-1994: Worked as consultant Paediatric Surgeon at Birmingham Children’s Hospital

    Received:

  • The M.N Sen Oration (I.C.M.R) Award, 1986,
  • The Prestigious B.C. Roy Silver Jubilee Research Award (8th recipient), for side-to-side lieno-renal shunt without splenectomy. The award was presented by the President of India on 20th October 1997.

    Has been invited as visiting professor by the faculty of Paediatric Surgery in various Children's hospitals in Philadelphia, Washington DC, Yale, New Orleans, Liverpool, Sheffield, London, Leeds and Manchester. Has published more than 150 papers in various international journals.

    Main interests:

    Neonatal surgery, Paediatric urology - exstrophy of the bladder, Paediatric Chest
    Surgery - conducted 1000 cases of Bronchoscopy, Hepato Biliary Surgery - hepatic resection, Portal Hypertension - operated upon more than 900 cases.
