Qualifications:
MBBS in 1976, from Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC), Delhi University (DU).
MD degree in Dermatology, Venereology and Leprosy, with Distinction, from MAMC, DU.
Became Fellow of the International Medical Sciences Academy (IMSA) in 1998
Experience:
At present an Honorary Active Senior Consultant and head of a unit, in the Department of Dermatology, in Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi. This is a 500 bedded, private teaching hospital. Infrastructure of the hospital has enabled him to treat all kinds of cases. With the team work of allied specialities, he has successfully managed cases like Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis, which in the west carries a mortality of 30 to 50%.
Faculty member for 2 years (1984 to 1986), in the department of Dermatology, All India Institue of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. Had independent charge of a unit, psychosexual clinic and Leprosy clinic.
Senior Resident for 3 years (1981 to 1984) in LNJP (Irwin) Hospital and associated MAMC.
Besides clinical work, has been actively involved in teaching both undergraduates and postgraduates.
Has a number of publications to his credit, both in Indian and Foreign journals. Cases like Dyskeratosis Congenita, KID's Syndrome, Bullous Reaction in Leprosy (not drug reaction), are among the first reports from India.
Vice President of the Delhi Branch of Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists and Leprologists (IADVL), in 1985-1986.
Honorary Secretary of Delhi Branch of IADVL in 1984-1985.
