Dr Smita Gupta is currently working as an Assistant Professor at Southern Illinois University in USA.
A native of India, she did her medical college from Rajasthan and went to the US for further training. After finishing her residency in internal medicine she went on to pursue an Endocrinology Fellowship. She is board certified in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology and Metabolism.
She is an active member of the Endocrine Society, American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, American Medical Association, ADA and the Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India (RSSDI). Currently, she is actively involved in the training of medical students, residents and fellows at the university and has done several publications and presentations at various endocrine meetings.
Her areas of interest include diabetes, thyroid, adrenal, pituitary, bone and mineral disorders including osteoporosis, polycystic ovarian disease and hirsutism.
