Dr Sujata Sawhney is a Consultant Paediatric Rheumatologist at the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in New Delhi. Her aim is to provide world-class multidisciplinary team care for children afflicted with rheumatological conditions and secondly to conduct training courses to increase awareness about children with these problems.
She is a graduate of AFMC Pune, and has completed her MBBS in 1985 with honours in Pathology and Medicine. She served the Indian Navy for five years and then completed M.D. in Paediatrics in 1993. After a two-year senior residency programme at the Kalawati Saran Children's Hospital In New Delhi, she went to the U.K. to pursue higher studies. There she completed MRCP (UK) and trained in Paediatric Rheumatology at the Great Ormond Street Hospital in London. On completion of her training programme, she was awarded the CCST (Completion Certificate of specialist training) from the U.K. Medical Royal Colleges.
