Dr Satya Karna completed his MBBS from JIPMER and received his degree in 1993 from Pondicherry University. He completed his DO in 1997 and DNB Ophthalmology in 1998, both from Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai. He became Consultant Ophthalmologist at Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai in 1997, and later on trained to become a Neuro-ophthalmologist at the same institute, where he worked for 5 years.
Dr Karna has over 25 lectures and presentations at National level conferences and he was the Organizing Secretary of the First International Update in Neuro-ophthalmology in October 2002 at Chennai. He is the author of the Sankara Nethralaya Atlas of Neuro-ophthalmology. He won the Best Clinical Talk Award for DOS Monthly Clinical Meetings for 2003-04. He also has a special interest in electronic medical records in Ophthalmology.
He is currently practicing at Karna Eye Clinic at Lajpat Nagar and is a Visiting Consultant to Shroff Eye Centre and Max Hospital.
