Dr Rakesh Malhotra is a practicing senior dental surgeon with specialisation in Orthodontics and has more than 25 years of clinical experience.
He had a brilliant academic career at the Faculty of Dental Sciences, King George's Medical College, Lucknow and was awarded several Gold Medals, Certificates of Honor, Merit Scholarships and Book Prizes. After his MDS he was on the teaching staff first at Dental College, Lucknow and then at PGI, Chandigarh, actively involved in post-graduate teaching and research programs. Currently he is Visiting Professor, Subharti Dental College, Meerut.
In 1983 he started his practice. He has a state of the art dental centre with all modern facilities including the latest digital dental imaging systems. The clinic is a reknowned centre for general and specialised dental treatment in the various clinical disciplines of dentistry.Despite being in practice, Dr. Malhotra retains a strong academic interest. He is a regular invitee as keynote speaker at national and international level conferences. He has several publications to his credit in various scientific journals. He has been awarded Fellowship of the International College of Dentists and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. Currently he is Member, Board of Studies, Dept. of Orthodontics, Faculty of Dental Sciences, King George’s Medical College, Lucknow. He has been on the editorial board of the Journal of Indian Orthodontic Society for the past five years.
Dr Malhotra is keenly involved in social work. He is President of ‘Charak Dental Foundation’, an NGO, whose basic aim is to create health awareness and provide low cost treatment to the poor and needy. He has contributed several meaningful articles in leading newspapers and magazines. He has given several talks on Television - NDTV, Lok Sabha TV, and a 15-episode serial program covering all aspects of Dental Health and treatment modalities for Doordarshan telecast under ‘Jeevan Rekha’ in June 2001.
