Conferences:
Paper presented at the ISEC-2000 in Manchester entitiled ‘Are you Alone?' The main focus of the paper was a comparative experience between Institute of Education and Oxford Brookes university. It was the 5th International Special Education Congress which has taken place at the University of Manchester from July 24-28 2000. The Conference was attended by Over 1000 delegates from 98 countries. The congress was attended by teachers, health workers, researchers, government officials, international and voluntary agencies, parents and family members and by many disabled people from all over the world.
Independence In Living - Planned this half day seminar at the National Job Development Centre in Bombay and Madras. Presented a paper entitled: 'What Do We Mean By Independence'. This seminar was aimed at empowering disabled people, their parents and staff. It focussed on basic everyday living skills that everybody needs to survive.
The National Network Seminar on Inclusive Education - Presented a paper entitled `The Impact of Segregation’ at conferences in Bombay Delhi and Jaipur. The conference was a major success. I addressed Teachers, Principals Professionals and Rehabilitators.
XI International Conference on Technology and the Disabled - Presented paper entitled ‘Communicating Emotions Using Virtual Reality’ at a conference on Technology and the Disabled in Los Angeles. The conference had an audience consisting of delegates from all over the world, technical specialists, professionals, Government personnel, parents and the disabled themselves. Conceptualised an audio-visual for the presentation in L.A. entitled 'Faces of India'.
The National Network Seminar For Marginalised Groups - Presented paper entitled, ‘I May be Different But Aren’t We All'. The conference which was discussing the problems of employment difficulties for marginalised groups, included disabled people, those with cancer and leprosy, drug addicts and women. It moved around three cities (Bombay, Calcutta, Delhi) addressing professionals policy makers, governmental and non-governmental officials.
