In these uncertain times of combating swine flu, various alternates are doing the rounds. People should be patient and follow the advice of doctors. In Mexico, swine flu is reported to have affected the heart of about two thirds in the related mortality. Given the profile of the patient and the early symptoms, ECG test should be conducted invariably by the consulting physician/ doctor for timely interventions.
A. If the allopathic interventions are delayed or are in-accessible or isolation is suggested or advised for the initial 2 or 5 days then the following option can be availed. If taken alongwith 'TAMIFLU' or similar drugs then a lag period of 3-4 hrs must be ensured/ maintained.
1. COMBINATION FOR A SINGLE DOSE - persons, including children, weighing 40kgs & above
(i) Tulsi Leaves (Holy Basil) (Ocimum tenuiflorum) - 2pcs
(ii) Turmeric Powder (Curcuma longa) - 1.5gm
(iii) Black Pepper Powder (Piper nigrum) - 0.5gm
(iv) Aonwla Powder (Phyllanthus emblica, syn. Emblica officinalis) - 1.0gm
(v) Seeds of Pods - Tree Dried – Drumstick (Moringa Oleifera) - 2pcs
(vi) Ginger Juice (Zingiber officinane) - 2ml
• To be taken twice daily – morning and evening - with a glass of water
2. ON THE ONSET OF FEVER
Warning: Not to be taken by Cardiac/ High Blood Pressure Patients
(i) Take a tablespoon of common salt used in the kitchen
(ii) Pound it to the extent it loses its shine – about 4-5 minutes in a strong vessel Okhali – Pestle Mortar - hamam dasta OR Grind for 2 minutes in a electrical grinder or otherwise
(iii) Roast it on a tava – iron plate for about 12 minutes on average flame of the gas stove burner -small
(iv) Cool and pound/ grind again for about half the time in the first grind – point (ii)
(v) Again roast it on the tava for about 6 minutes and cool– process given in point (iii)
(vi) Add this processed salt, one table spoon, to a glass of water
(vii) Squeeze a lemon into this glass of water with processed salt, stir and drink at the onset of fever and every 12 hours thereafter for a maximum of four times/ 2 days.
B. PREVENTION by increasing the body immunity through proper nourishment
Leaves of drumsticks tree/ plant – Moringa oleifera with common names of sahjan, murunga, moonga, sajina etc. are reported to have significant quantities to supplement (and not replace) nutrition in Vitamin(s) A & C, Magnesium, Potassium, Proteins, Calcium and Iron, amongst various other dietary constituents. Due attention is to be provided to the precautions enlisted herein.
Process: Pluck about 2-3 kg leaves of the drumsticks tree/ plant and dry them in shade. Rub the dried leaves across the sieves/ mesh available in the household for filtering cereals and flour to derive the powder. A tea spoon twice a day for children up to 6years, a table spoon twice a day for children up to 12 years and a tablespoon thrice a day for all above 12 years of age, including lactating/ nursing mothers and pregnant women is suggested, subject to the underlying conditions, namely;
• Pregnant women in the third trimester must avoid drumstick plant/ tree consumption.
• Long term use i.e. more than two to three months continuous consumption of leaves in powder form is lacking necessary back up studies.
• Since these leaves are a common constituent of the daily diet, in the southern part of India for generations, these can be eaten raw or cooked and consumed as a part of regular cooked diet.
I sincerely wish these benefits you, your organization, family members and friends. Good Luck.

All this article is good to keep away from the H1N1 virus. But what hurts me about my country India is, "What preventive measures are being taken by the government or medical hospitals". Why preventive measures were not taken when a kid in "Pune" died? Why we are so ignorant about this disease and take it so easily? Are we waiting for more deaths to happen & then take some actions? Why is government not putting curfew in whole country stopping the transportation from outside. Everything should be stopped to kill the virus. In daily news I just get the news that "So many people are dead" but tell me where is the action taken to prevent it? In India, nothing is organized. People won't learn until and unless they experience something bad.
My predictions,
1. More deaths if this is the case if people still go to office, roam, travel.
2. World might vanish off.
3. Scarcity of testing kits & drugs.
I request doctors/nurses/government/individual/people/individual to save each and every life. H1N1 is scaring people day by day.
Politicians easily say, "All under control, we are equipped". My question to them is "Can you justify it?".
Please become serious about this disease. Kill H1N1 before it kills us.
Regards,
Santhosh S Tuppad

My opinion to protect swine flue is make arrangment like election. All over india put swine flue booth and check each and every people.who ever is infected from swine flue sperate them (isolate them) and do treantment on them.so that un infected people should not get any harm.persons visiting to india should be checked at airport only so that there is no chance of increase this swine flue.kindly put this opinion in front of our health minister.i know it will make some cost but less than cost of election.Hope you will do the needful.

At the outset I wish to thank Doctor NDTV for providing such a useful article on SWINE FLU. As the situation is getting worse day by day, it is high time the Health ministry does some brainstorming and find out a proper vaccine, before it takes a heavy toll of the people in the country. As a citizen we can also take some preventive actions and avoid further spreading of the Flu. Thank you once again DoctOR NDTV for publishing this.
