The author elaborates on the coming of age in the 21st century of sexuality studies in India. He quotes liberally from mythology, folklore and history to make this essential book as interesting as it is a recognition of social works focus on human needs which need to be met as an imperative of basic justice. MSM is the acronym for men who have sex with men and describes a behavioural category of men who have sexual or emotional relationships, exclusively with other men. The complexities - emotional, physical and societal are lucid. The various types of terminology that applies to these realtionships is described in detail as is the focus of the most positive kind of social work that would prove beneficial to this particular community. A whole chapter is dedicated to Homosexality in India : Historical Overview and Contemporary Situation. There is finally a definite impact of the message in this book - the fact that marginalistaion by society of MSM is unjustified, that there is a great need to protect their rights and freedom and that there are tangible and positive methods of doing this.
